Zarahemla

Beyond the Stone Age

How would you like to own a faithful replica of an artifact from the time of Zarahemla?

For the last 300 years, scholars claimed that ancient Americans lived in the Stone Age because they did not alloy metal.

Now laboratory testing of ancient artifacts gives undeniable evidence that advanced civilizations in the Heartland had skills placing them beyond the Stone Age.

The best part is that you can support new research at the Zarahemla Site by ordering a museum-quality replica of an important relic.

Limited edition of ancient arrowheads!

Today a leading jewelry production facility is casting 2,000 copper alloy arrowheads. The same factory makes replicas of ancient artifacts for world-class institutions including the British Museum in London.

The arrowheads will be ready in three weeks, and we will begin a major campaign to raise donations for our search in Zarahemla.

For a monthly donation of $10, patrons will receive a replica of the 4th Century arrowhead, a medicine bag, and a copy of Wayne May's December issue of Ancient American Magazine. The feature story in the magazine contains technical details of the testing of this arrowhead in a modern laboratory.

Where was the Arrowhead found?

Not far from Zarahemla on the east bank of the Upper Mississippi near Nauvoo there is a clear stream that flows into America's most important river. A few years ago another visitor discovered from the water a metal armband also made from copper.

Zarahemla was beyond the stone age. Thousands of copper artifacts are in public and private collections throughout the Heartland.

How does the technology of alloy set Zarahemla apart?

Copper melts at temperatures twice as hot as a campfire. The fervent heat of the smelting fire takes you out of the Stone Age.
